“SERVAIS” tells the story of the living film legend Raoul Servais on his way to his date with history. In June 2018, Mu.ZEE, the fine arts museum in Ostend, opened two permanent galleries dedicated to the work of Servais, who was 90. His work will thus forever be flanked by that of two other illustrious Belgian artists, namely James Ensor and Leon Spilliaert. The documentary narrates the three years that led up to this milestone in Servais’s career. It follows the daily life of the internationally-acclaimed filmmaker and animator from October 2015 onwards, showing how he continues to push back his own boundaries day after day with his infectious energy. He exhibits, publishes and inspires, continuously and regularly. We see a tireless driving force, who inspires many young people to cross their own boundaries, with his ideas and work.
