25.05.2010 Discovered at Visions du Réel in 2000, Apichatpong Weerasethakul is the winner of the Palme d’or at Cannes for his film "Lung Boonmee Raluek Chat". Apichatpong Weerasethakul is the winner of the Palme d’or at Cannes for his film Lung Boonmee Raluek Chat. His first feature film Mysterious Object at Noon had its European première at Visions du Réel and at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2000. Convinced that the filmmaker was one of the most talented and singular personalities of contemporary cinema, Visions du Réel organized in 2005 an Atelier dedicated to him. The team of Visions du Réel congratulates Apichatpong Weerasethakul on winning this Award.

Event: Apichatpong Weerasethakul will exclusively be present in Geneva for a Master Class organised by the Geneva University of Art and Design. The meeting will take place on Monday May 31, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Cinéma Bio de Carouge. A unique opportunitiy to meet one of the most talented contemporary filmmaker.
